Deliverances from death

Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears us up; God is our salvation. Our God is a God of salvation, and to God, the Lord, belong deliverances from death.
-Psalms 68:19

My God is a God of salvation, He daily lifts me up and holds me close. He is quick to save me from my enemies who lie in darkness. In their dark shadows they plot to trip me up, to take light and replace with twisted shadows. But here is where my God owns the battle, he is victorious and redeemer. Both justice and mercy. For that reason it belongs to him; my deliverances from death.

Lord I pray that you give me clear thinking and a devoted heart to further your will. May you even now establish your kingdom in my life and in the places where I find my footing. May you guide me when I cannot see…and may you own my deliverances. Amen

Shadows of light

Scripture)
As a result of the apostles’ work, sick people were brought out onto the streets on beds and mats so that Peter’s shadow might fall across some of them as he went by. Crowds came in from the villages around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those possessed by evil spirits, and they were all healed.
-Acts 5:15-16

Observation)
The people around the believers are ones that notice a consistency…it says that the believers met in the temple in one area time after time. Imagine this: Here you see these people who are different, set aside in their own group…and these people are awesome! You hold them in such high regard but you wouldn’t dare join them because face it, they are different. You see more and more people and families join and you just don’t know what to do. These are the feelings and attitudes of the nonbeliever.

Application)
This is where God has called us to be, to be a Peter with healing in his wake. To have our shadows contain the very power, healing, and essence of our savior. This is where my heart wants to be; to have my darkness, my shadows turned to light.

Prayer)
Lord, have this happen in my life, let my shadows be the place where You are able to reach out and touch people. May it be a place that welcomes Your awesome wonder. Amen
